I have shot at the horse park many times, and I immediately fell in love with the environment there. The Horse Park at Woodside is a 270 acre equestrian facility located just over 280. The Horse Park is a 501 (c)(3) non profit dedicated to supporting equestrians and fostering community. They hold many types of events at the facility, including dressage, hunter jumper, eventing, western, polo and vaulting.
I love shooting at the horse park for many reasons, but one of the main ones for me as a photographer is the lighting. Because of the openness of the park, there is lots of natural light that makes it so easy to get perfectly exposed photos. Not only this, but this light also allows me to shoot at much faster shutter speeds in order to capture the moment and keep the image as crisp as possible.
With many arenas and its location in the heart of Woodside, the horse park features many stunning views from all edges of the property. Whether you are there in the morning watching the sun rise as you get ready, or in the evening after practice watching the sun set and the bright colors dance across the sky, the horse park never fails when it comes to picturesque views. With views of the bay area, and the hills, the nature within and around the horse park provide a stunning backdrop for all of their equestrian events.
Lastly, the horse park facility itself is absolutely amazing. With 9 huge arenas, and 6 trails within their cross country field there is always a place for you to ride and enjoy the beauty of the horse park. The horse park also has many barns and stalls for all your boarding needs. But it's not just your horse that they cater to. They also have hookups for your RV with water and electricity, and a killer snack shack for when you need a little pick me up. With turnouts, lunging areas, open pastures, hospitality areas, wash racks, and so, so, so much more the horse park is sure to suit all of your equestrian needs.
